From Coffee Farms to Bourbon Barrels: A Journey of Craft
Before bourbon, there was coffee. Before coffee, there was engineering. Our master distiller’s path wasn’t a straight line, but every step led to the next—each craft refining his ability to create something exceptional.
The passion for food and flavor has always been in his blood. His father, a renowned agricultural scientist, specialized in cross-pollinating grape trees, instilling in him an early fascination with experimentation and taste. That curiosity led him to develop a unique bourbon recipe inspired by a home-brewing expression he crafted using wheated honey roasted malt—the foundation of Safai Bourbon.
His journey also took him deep into the world of coffee, where he honed his skills as a supertaster, founded Safai Coffee, and supported farming communities through the Safai Foundation. Just recently, the foundation celebrated the opening of a new school in Honduras, continuing his commitment to craftsmanship and community.
Today, that same dedication to precision, patience, and artistry is poured into every bottle of Safai Bourbon. Because true artistry isn’t just about making something—it’s about making something that lasts.
